Subject: Gas Mileage Help IP: Logged
Message: I've noticed a drop in gas mileage lately. I have a 2000 Dakota V-6 with slightly over 50,000 miles. I've never touched the engine except for regular oil changes and filters (air and oil). Any ideas how I could get the gas mileage back to where it was? I was getting about 17 mpg around town and 20 on a trip. Now I get 16 on a trip. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Message: cold weather will effect gas mileage on these
motors
A good tune up never hurts
Napa MO26 And MO28 solid brass incerts cap & rotor
Autolite AP5224 gaped .005 over factory specs.
Another thing that can effect mileage is the o2
sensor recomended replaced at 60,000 but they seam
to go bad sooner on the OBD 2 trucks
Autozone will scan your truck free to check and
see if all the sensors are working properly any
off like engine temp or IAT in coming air will
effect gas mileage
