 Subject: TPS sensor

i had the surging/missing problem with my 02' dak, so i read the suggestions on this board and replaced the 'tps sensor'.
i noticed a pinging sound after a few days and wondered NOW what's going on. well i read another thread about changing the 'tps' and it said to remember to 'preload' the 'tps' by cocking it 20 degrees clockwise, then push it in, and then turn it to align the holes. problem solved.
this post is just for some of the less experienced, like myself. i'm sure you pros know this already, but i didn't read about 'preloading' in the previous posts.

I'm glad you posted this, because obviously I wasn't preloading mine enough... I would preload it, just a little but this time nearly wrapped it around itself... I checked to make sure my throttle was working without binding and all is well... I kept wondering why my fuel mileage and hp had droped way down... Now it'll spin while taking off in first gear again :)) All because I never could get my idle on my new TB right... It kept idling up and down around 50rpms or so in difference, so I took off and changed my sensors as a midway through resort and after all that and after my IAT override replacement my fuel mileage and hp went way down... Now the throttle response is way back along with my fuel mileage :)) Couldn't be happier... AND I finally got my idle to stay right in one place ; )) Even better...
