Subject: Choosing New Tires IP: Logged
Message: Okay...My dad told me to pick new tires out and he'll have em put on for me before the winter hits.
Here are my limits:
1.) Must be available in the same size as my stock ones... I wish I could get oversize, but with 2 speeding tickets I don't need to throw my speedo off.
2.) Must be all weather
3.) Can't be TOO expensive...they don't have to be el-cheapo stock ones that slide like crazy. Just not top-of-the line racing tires or anything.
My own personal limit - Must have pretty good traction in the snow and rain.
Any ideas/recommendations?

Message: Come on... I'm sure at least one of you people has bought stock size tires for your truck...as far as I know they don't run 100,xxx miles on a single set of tires...

Message: Thanks dude... I'm gonna try and convince my dad to take it to this tire and muffler place (they go a good rep) so I can have a flowmaster exhaust system put on the same day they do the tires.

Message: I just got Bridgestone Dueller's to replaced the tires that got slashed. They do really well on sand and corner nicely. Hasn't snowed or rained yet so I couldn't tell you much about that but the reviews said they do nicely.
Overall I'm happy with them and am fairly confident in going offroad in 2wd

Message: I have a 97 4X4 with over 140K so have gone through some tires. I like all terrain tires because I am mainly on pavement, but do a bit off road. A couple sets ago I came across the Yokohama Geolander which were rated well and I loved the way they handled. They are great in the rain and the snow. I just got new tires a few weeks back and decided to go with the Bridgestone Deuler A/T Revo, they were getting some great reviews. So far I love them, and have had a little snow to play in already.
Check the tirerack on pricing that is a great site....
The Dueler revo's are the top of the line and run about $140-150 each. They also have the regular Deuler which is the same tread pattern, they run $120-130 each. (at least in my area)
The Geolanders are probably around $90-110, but havent priced them lately.
good luck
