Message: Just curious, but what are the symptoms of a bad plenum and how can I verify that it's bad without tearing the intake apart? I've got an '01 sport with 70k miles. I've heard that these go out around 60k pretty frequently and that this was the reason for the "death Flash." Since I have an extended warentee can I make the dealer change this out?

Message: With the truck off and engine cool: Pull the breather off. Take a flashlight, Manually open the butterflies and look into the bottom of the intake.
If there's a light misting of Oil it's normal wear & tear.
If there's a puddle of Oil, Invoke your warranty priveleges.
