 Subject: 93 Cruise/Acceleration Problem

I have a 93 4x4 3.9 5spd with 170000
First, anytime I step on the gas or put the engine under a load, I hear a noise like a vacumn leak or a hard blow-by.
Second, if I hit any kind of a grade, I have to down shift and even then I can barely maintain 60 mph.
Third, I noticed that once a reached my target road speed, if I hold the gas pedal in the same place, the vehicle looses speed, like its not geting enough fuel, if I push on the pedal even the slightest bit, it jumps and takes off till it gets back to the cruising speed I wanted and then starts to drop again. I noticed it does this when on cruise also.
Any ideas on whats going on here? Is this a vacumn leak situation. My fuel milage doesn't seem to have been affected, oil pressure is good and my engine operates at normal temps.

Sounds like your Cat converter may be pluged and
at 170,000 I would replace the O2 also.

Check the cap rotor and plugs to be sure its in a
good state of tune.

its your fuel pump i had the same prob on an automatic 60 to 70 bux will fix it check yooure fuel presure it should be i belive around 28 or 30 i had 15

it could be ur TPS(throttle positioning sensor) its also a common problem.
