Message: I've got a so far stock 3.9 2001 that seems to have a bit of an attitdue problem. Some days, like today, I fire her up and she quick as sht. Above 3k any way, but i'm working on that. Other days, she's a dog through out the whole range. Am I just driving different or can environmental factors (air temp, humidity, ect) play that big of a role in performance?

Message: Humidity, temperature, barometric pressure, this all has an effect on your, our, performance. Humidity has alot to do with the way your sensors react....i.e. A.I.T.,(air flow meter), speed control sensors......
Have you made any mods? There is some great information on this site!!
"Larry" really seems to know his stuff when it comes to v6 "mopars". The atmosphere will always play havoc on our toys....this is just something we have come to accept.

Message: You may have a sensor that's starting to go south but isn't bad enough yet to throw a code. A DRB scan might shed some light.

Message: It's completely stock. In fact I just bought it used, so i'm not sure what sensors have been changed. I'm going to start adding mods as I get the money. Thinking about doing intake, TB then exhaust. Does anyone know if the dealer will flash the PCM to a previous version for free. Since my truck is an '01, i'm pretty sure it has the death flash.

Message: I have a similar question about my truck. I was driving on the highway and after about 2 hours of doing 80mph with no problem it started dogging. It had a real hard time keeping the speed and was down shifting alot. I wasn't pulling anything either. It was fine the next day and I haven't taken a long trip again yet. I cut the cat off about a month ago, and a leak in the exhaust just surfaced. I haven't got the chance to re-weld it yet. would this leak cause it to struggle the way it was? or is it something more complex?
