Subject: spark plug-question IP: Logged
Message: i recently changed the plugs in my 01 dakota.i noticed the ceramic insulators had spots that appeared to be burned away exposing the center electrode .anyone know what would cause this?

Message: i bought the truck used i assume it was original plugs from the factory .they were champion rc12Lc4 gapped about .040 .the truck only has about 10,000 miles.i noticed a skip so decided to check the plugs after changing them i could see why i had a skip.never seen anything like that just wondered what caused it.

You should not have this trouble at so few miles, something needs to be fixed.

Message: Drop a set of AP3924 or AP3923 Autolight gaped at
.040 .045
Sounds like there running hot
The 3923 is 1 range colder

Message: I recently changed my oem spark plug wires to MSD 8.5 mm. It started ok, but noticed it started miss firing. I am assuming that I also need to replace plugs or the wires are to much.
I only have the 180 degree stat install. I also bought the APP 5224 plugs, but not sure if they are right for the application after reading this forum.
Can some help or advise?
