Subject: ?'s for Bernd IP: Logged
Message: hey Burnd I'm thinking that if I put a tbi unit from an 88 or 89 Dak on my premagnum engine, I might be able to run a 50 shot of Nos. My question is, is this feesible, and how much is the Nos system. Also what gears came in the 87 daks, I know that I have a 8.25 rear, I want to run 355's or 392's. I'm trying to build the horse power up as much as possible. Thanx again for all of you help thus far. I appreciate all of the advice that you and the rest of the faithful members of this site have given me.

Message: With the TBI system, it would be preferred to run a plate system therefore keeping the nitrous from freezing the injectors. On the gears, I don't know which ones came in yours as there were different gear ratio options...however, definitely recommend 3.90's.

Message: Bernd does that plate system that you were talking about come with the kit, and if it isn't feesible to run the tbi, can I run nitrous with the carborator. Thanx again.

Message: You can run Nitrous with whatever your heart desires (to a point). The plate sits below the Carb/TBI unit. I'll check my old emails for the company that had a direct bolt-on plate system for the Dodge engines. (The standard plates don't fit as they're designed for Spread-Bore or Square-Bore carburetors.)
On carbureted applications, either direct port (expensive) or plate systems prevail. (They also work well with TBI systems.)
