I have a 00 cc 5.9 and i have race an extreme 4 times in one night and i kicked the sh!t out of it not once not twice not even three times but all four times. mine is a auto with 3.55 gears and 4x4 all it has is a k&n air filter. i have no idea what he was running in his but it wasnt enough. We took off from a stop light in town and went 4 blocks and i kicked it ass evertime!!! and thats all i have to say about that...

I owned a 95 Dakota Sport 3.9L for 8 years and put 150,000 miles on it. Loved my Dodge and would buy another. When I went to buy a new truck the 4.3 won this time over that 3.7L, and chevy's so called new I-5. Hello truck engine not car engine.They gave you more hp less tonqe. Same with the Dodge more hp still 235 LBs of tonqe. I Realize that my S-10 is an 04, and both companies have made improvements over the years. But my S-10 tows better handles better and is so much quicker then my old Dakota. Oh by the way the s-10 is a crew and the Dakota was regular cab.

The 3.7L Dakota is a hella lot better than the 4.3 trust me I have driven both and there is a big difference...I think that the 3.7 is almost like a car motor but will handle about any v6 out there in a truck....still i won a 94 3.9 dakota with a few mods and it pulls better accelerates faster than my friends 97 s10 4.3. I have actually raced a 3.7 and got OWN3D. So If I were to buy a v6 it would be a 3.7 fo sho!

ok i am here no to pick sides but to point a few things out for you dakota guys first of xtreme only refers to plastic body kits for looks. secondly the 98up 4.3 has way better head flows than the older models.third the 4.3 v6 has a very wide power band making more power over entire range on an average than ANY v6. fourth alot of u guys say what your running and beating s10 xtremes with but not what they are running 4 bangers,v6,auto or manual, are they launching or just hammering the gas,what gears or differential type are they running.fifth has any of u ran agianst a 2000 extended or reg cab v6 auto or manual with a zq8 suspension, pozi traction g80 rear with 3.42 gears??? there are to many different options to make this fair you could be racing 4 banger with no power or v6 with no traction or just a driver that cant launch his truck. but i garrentee that stock s10 extreme 2wd zq8 v6 wth 3.42 or better rear and g80 positraction launched properly vs stock dokota rt v6 2whd drive with any gear u pick,any bolt on minus turbo or supercharger.chevy wins even if u got a v8 so quit crying and get rid of that anemic ass motor and quit hating on chevy guys we know what we got and what u got (screwed)!!! o and for your info you have a new worry newer colorado zq8 comes with gm's 5.3 v8 that can spank your rumble bee-hinds.add a supercharger and all dodge trucks are out. add slicks and tuning and vipers are worried. chevy power always wins we are the big three you are just the little one dodge sucks less its deisel!! chevy man over n out

--Your 5.3 has 300hp/320tq. Our 4.7 has 302hp/320tq, and Daks have had V-8s starting in 1989. Better late than never, I guess. The Ram has 390hp/407tq. And Vipers (really, you said you would make Vipers worry?) have 600hp/560tq. Why should we worry about your truck with less HP?
I find the arguments (can you really even call them that?) that you chevy guys have to be hilarious. You guys are comparing your top power-making engine to our starting point engine. Who cares if your 4.3 can beat a 3.9? How many stock 4.3s will beat our 5.2, 5.9, or 4.7 litre V-8s that our trucks came with?
Any more things that you would care to "point out" for us?
(I can hear Graham Chapman in this guy's head- "RUN AWAY!" :D)
