Message: Does anyone know how to test the headlight switch.
It's my fog lights that don't work, I've been over the wiring several times.
I've come to the conclussion that it must be the switch.
I've called 3 local junkyards and the newest Dakota they have is a 96.
The switch is the combo type, and my Haynes manual only shows the early switches.
So before I go spending $40 on a new one, I'd like to make sure thats what's wrong.

Message: Go to your local public library or tech school and
ask to see there mitchel manuals in there you
could find pin numbers and test the switch.
Track it down with a wire diagram
the only way to know what wires and pins to
check you would need these diagrams.

Message: I did a search of headlight switches on this forum, and found that it seems to be common for these switches to go bad.
One person wrote in he took his apart, found the broken part and superglue it back together.
Well I took mine apart and found the same small part broken, except the small part that broke wasn't there. It must of fall out through the vent holes in the light switch body.
So I'm off to the parts store tomorrow to get a new one.
Thanks again Larry
