Subject: Stalling when pushing clutch in IP: Logged
Message: I have a question. My truck is a 1993 Dakota 3.9 v6 magnum...it idles fine when I start it up but when I am driving sometimes when I push the cluth in to come to a stop...the truck dies...and sometimes it just idles just fine...and sometimes it acts as if it is going to die and it putts and then it "corrects" itself and it begins to idle perfect. It does this especially when the air conditioner is on. Any ideas?

Message: i call it the "chrysler stall." my 1983 omni had this same problem. my 93 dakota does this as well. chysler told me there was nothing wrong (several times) so after spending lots of money trying to fix it, i've learned to live with it. usually mine will stall if i've run it for over an hour. instead of downshifting, i brake till the tach goes under 1000 rpm and the push the clutch in. this usually prevents a stall. let me know if you figure out what's wrong.
