Ok...so heres the scoop!

I have a 2000 Dakota 3.9 ATX, it now has 33xxx miles on it.
At 30xxx miles the main seal was replaced for the 2nd time...
well, it leaked again..so i left it with the dealer all day.
They replaced it for the 3rd time!!!!

Now I get home, check it...its leaking AGAIN!!!! WTF!!

The standard warr was 3yr/36k miles. The truck was purchased in Feb of 2000, so its past the 3 yr mark...these last 2 times its been replaced free under warr because its still under 36k. So now WTF do i do?

I called them back, they told me to bring it in at 7am.....OBVIOUSLY the main seal cant be bad all these times, somthing else has to be bad. Crank? block? who knows, i just dont want to get shafted here, because this is getting rediculous!

It sounds like the motor needs to be pulled out
and the clearance on the rear main bearing checked
it almost sounds like its spun

replacing the seal 1 time maybe, twice is strange
unless they did not install it correctly 3 times
is just to much there is a definet problem.

Its time for you to call chrysler directly and
complain enough to get them to replace the entire
motor not the seal for the 3rd time.

Could be perosity in the casting creating presure
in that area and causing it to leak.

That's what I would do also mention that you will
be contacting your attorny to start procedings
against them. I have done this twice with 2 trucks
a 94 dak and a 02 ram and got them to buy both
back.

If it was replaced under warantee but the prob
was never solved you have a very good chance just
get all the work orders togather and go after them
