What gears are in it now? i put the 3.92 in
mine and loved them from the start. i added a
traclok atthe same time. that was great mod. I
also have the new superchips tuner. anotehr
great mod. honestly i'd do both if i were you.
they both helped a ton. most 5spd guys go
with the 392s for gears. do the gears now and
get the big expense out of the way. then down
the line pick up a tuner/chip. i have an intake,
v-8 tb, cam, 1.6rrs, headers, flowmaster, 180
tstat, underdrive pully, 3.92 gears with traclok,
jba wires. so the computer was the only thing
holding me back. i'd say do both.

the cam evened out the powerband some and
it was one of the last things i've doen so it
went well with the other mods i have. that and
the rockers deffinitly opened up the truck a lil.
the tuner is a Superchip tuner that sells on avg
for around $300. there was a group buy on it
awhile back. their on ebay as well. the tuner
also doubles as a diagnostic tool so you can
get codes from your truck with it etc. it was alot
easier than an ase being it took 10 min to
install. i've never had an ase so i couldn;t tell
you if it was better.

did your chip get rid of the rev limmiter? and was it noticable power gain?

yes it removed the rev limiter and speed
limiter. it was a very noticeable gain. i love it.
one of the better mods i've done. it opened up
the truck alot since it went well the rest of the
mods.

Greg,

At highway speeds between 65-75 mphs what rpms are you seeing with the 3.92's I'm interested in putting in 3.90/92's in my 87Dak, I'm building a 92 magnum for it. Curently I have a v8 tbi, 180 tsat. MSD 6al, 8.5 mm wires msd, blaster coil. I plan on getting the mopar performance pcm, jba headers, pulleys and electric fan. I also have a flow master 40 series muffler and high flo cat. I just want to make sure that the 3.92's aren't too much gear for it. Oh yeah my dak is a stick as well so that is the reason for all question.
