Message: I need some idea's on Engine mods for my Premagnum 3.9. I know that I can cut the Catylic converter, cuz the honeycomb eliment robs power, headers, catback exhaust, a mild cam, posible better intake (not sure) 180 degree thermostat, and autolite 3923. But I'm looking for more power. I want to supercharge it (not a big fan of N0S). Is this possible, has anyone done this. Hell Bern if you have any idea's let me know. I really want to get the 87 up in power.
Thanx again all

Message: I also have an 87 dakota. I went back through old MP catalogues and found out that mopar made a four barrel intake. So I called the tech line and they only had 2 left and wern't going to to make any more so I grabed 1 of them. After I worked over the engine, trans, and the rear end I now run 15.6 But I can't find any thing else. If you want i'll be selling this motor in about a year and a half I am swaping to a 340.

Message: Hi there.
I have a 1990 Dak V6. I have done a little to my dak performance wise and thought maybe I could give you some ideas.
My dak has: K&N intake (custom homebrew), Jacobs Omni Mag Ing. system. Jacobs performance coil, 8.5mm Jacobs wires, Autolite 3923 gapped to .045, Edlebrock headers, no cat, dual Flowmaster exhaust. And the contriversal Jet Chip.
I am soon going to change my rearend from 3.21 gears to something like 3.92 gears. I also am intrested in cams, intake manifolds, super chargers.
My truck runs well now. Alot better than stock. No comparison. But it still is not great. I am hoping that I am around 170-180 HP. Up from 125 stock! terrible. Good luck and hope you succede.

Message: Hey Joe, I read about your homebrew intake. I was hoping that you could email me the steps that you took to make it, or even send some pics, on how and where to place. I'm extremely interested in the concept and feel that I can tackle the project with no problem, with the right instructions. As for the Supercharger, I want to do that to my dak, but I haven't found a company that makes it for the carburated 3.9. If you find any info out, please let me know, Also I would've love to get one of those four barrel intakes. Do you guys know how difficult it would be to change over to fuel injection. Thanx again for your responses. I definately appreciate all of the replies.

Message: Thanx for the offer Dave, I might take you up on it, stay intouch seriously. I know for sure that I would be interested in the manifold, and the gears in the rear if you decide to sell those. As for the entire engine not sure. I'm in Europe right now, and shipping would be too expensive for the motor. Not to mention that I'm actually looking for a Magnum v6er, so I can go all out. But Keep me posted and in mind when you decide to go ahead and sell the engine, or those componets. Cuz I'm interested.

Message: Joe, your AutoLites are supposed to be gapped at .055" if you have the Jacobs ignition on there.
Also, if 87DakBuilder wants to convert to EFI, you can use my 1989 throttle body that I have sitting around. I have an extra one that I'm not using, and it just sits around. Its been refurbished by Holley and is in NEW condition. You would nee to do some wiring for the computer and so forth, and that might become a project. But I'm sure it would fit right on top of your intake manifold.

Message: Tiger Dak,
Thanks for the info man. I have been told by alot of folks just to do .010 larger than stock. Which for me is from 0.035 to 0.045. But I will definitly change those gaps. Thanks for the help man! You a life saver.
OK, I got a story to tell. Bad twords me but hey, life is about laughing at yourself!
I was returning home from my college a week ago and my truck started to run rough. Since I installed the Jacobs system days earlier, I though it must be something with that. So I checked. Yes, one of my right side wires had came outa the loom and burnt half way through on the header. So I tried to tinker with it a minute and finally rigged it up where it began to fire to that cylinder again. As I was pulling my hand out of the engine comp. carefully due to hat headers, I hit the spark plug wires cable and got the shock of my life. My teeth slammed together and my heart raced. I was on an electric High guys. It was something. Never again though. But I made it home with the wire and fixed it!
87DakBuilder, post your email and I will send you something and a few picts if I can. Good luck.

Message: Thanx Joe, My Email is Nafarious33@yahoo.com, anything that you can send me is greatly appreciated. TigerDak, hell yeah I will take your throttle boddy. Let me know how much you want. You too can email me at the above address. I will pay for the shipping and things. You will have to send it to me in europe, just include the shipping price on top of everything for me and I'll send you a money order. If you have the intake. I'll take that off your hands too. Thanx for looking out for me IntenseDak, and you to Joe E. I know what it is like to be broke and in college. That's why I'm in the Navy now. Talk you guys later.

Message: 87DakBuilder, no prob man. I get on that thing tomarrow. No Class! But I will see what I can come up with and maybe it could work for ya. Hope so. I think the total for the intake, all parts included was around 50 -60 bucks. Not bad considering K&N doesnt make a setup for us. Talk to you later guys.
Tiger, I regapped my spark plug wires to the Jacobs recomendations 0.055. But today the throttle seemed real sluggish and it almost stalled out on me a few times. So I guess Ill go to 0.045 again. Any info on why? Thanx
