Subject: Exhaust...

Alright guys...I need some comments on my exhaust system here. To be honest, it currently sounds like $hit. I told my muffler guy that, and he said "ok, tell us what you want and we'll see what we got." So, now, I have a Flo-Pro Glasspack (single inlet, dual outlet out the rear) and it sounds like a little onda goin down the road...very load and very annoying to neighbors when I run fire/ems calls at 3:00 a.m. So, what muffler makes the dakota (3.9L V6) sound good, and will fit the dual exhaust system? Thanks in advance!

I got the DeltaFlow 40 series which has a sweet low rumble but a little on the loud side. The Deltaflow 50 series might be your answer. I've heard just about every muffler on different types of v6s and the best sounding IMO on any v6 is a Flowmaster.

Flowmaster 50 series, louder, sounds sweet, not so loud people could complain. My wife likes it because she can hear me pull up at her work.

Ok, I just got back from Meineke and they installed a Rhino Muffler for no charge...sounds better, but not as loud. Oh well...I guess that's the best I can do for my sixer...

Hi

I don't know if you remember me, but I posted about how terrible my exhaust sounded. Like a ricer or something.

I have a Magnaflow.

I went to a shop today and they put turndowns on it. Right after the muffler, the pipe bends and faces the ground.

It made a huge difference in sound. If you've been around cars a while, you will realize that its never going to sound like a V8, but I am much more pleased with turndowns.

A Flowmaster would probably even sound better.

How much does a 40 series w/ cat back system cost and would meineke or someone similar carry them? I am looking to drop a little more dough in the truck, probably 400-500 bucks. Any help would be appreciated...thanx.

I went to a muffler shop(macco mufflers), and they said flows would probably cost you about $380 give or take, but if you don't want to spent that much, they said yyou could get glasspacks, and that would cost you about $220

I would recomend the Dynomax. I have one on my truck and it sounds great. Great low rumble while sitting in park and at low cruising speads (40 and below) I would say the super turbo would be the most popular.
