Subject: clunking noise in rear end IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota not even a year old yet. It only has 19,000 miles on it and I just had to get new shocks, tie rod, and a ball joint for the front end. Now when I use my blinker my brake light goes out and also I hear a clunking noise in my rear end. Why am I having all of these problems if my truck is not even a year old what else can go wrong? I dont even go off road with my truck it is always driven in the city.

Message: Must have been built on a Friday! At least it's still under warrenty. The clunk could be something silly like a driveshaft yoke that needs to be greased, but the dealer shoul be able to figure it out.

Message: I have 2002 sxt with the same problem starting around 24,000 miles. The dealership said it was normal which seems to be the response that alot of people get come to find out. If your is a 5 speed like mine it might be the clutch. Have someone else listen to it or get a second or third opinion on what it might be before the dealership gets it.
