Subject: An end to it all..... IP: Logged
Message: This talk is getting insane!
A lot of people on this board need to go somewhere else. A lot of people, not everyone, but a lot of people come on this board to "out-do" each other. I think they are missing the point....we ALL own Dakotas here...whether it is a 2.5, 3.9, 4.7, 5.2, 5.9, or Magnum or pre-magnum, or 2wd/4wd, etc. I come to this board to see how things are progressing between all of these types of Dakotas and enjoy talking with everyone on how-tos, etc etc. We each bought our specific Dakota for our own reasons, so why the need to always bash someone? One good example is I met someone who could just afford his 1st new truck, loves the Dakota, and got an SXT for its value and is wanting to get into some mods for the first time. Someone like this posts a question on how to spruce up his sixer and someone jumps all over him saying if you want to make it better get a V8? Basically, just making that person who is a Dakota enthusiast second guess his purchase. That really bothers me.
Anyway, I just felt that needs to be said because I am a Dakota enthusiast and an overall Dodge enthusiast. Every Dakota is great in my opinion for the reason that it is a Dakota, why you got it with a V8 or a V6 or a manual instead of an auto is your preference, and if I were to ask you why did you go with "this" over "that" I am sure you could write quite a few reasons why your Dakota fit you when you bought it.
Anyway, I enjoy discussing the differences and the performances and the overall fun we are having with our Dakotas, but I, and I am sure quite a few other enthusiasts on here like myself, are getting a little tired of the bashing that goes on.
Enjoy your Dakotas!

Message: I too agree. There is way too much bashing between owners of dakotas. They all brag about the power of their dakotas but instead of helping others with their new purchases they critisim them for their "poor choice" of dakota. One of the other things that bothers me is the large amount of non dodge talk going on about lightnings and imports. The lightning is a pure race truck. imports are in a totally different class. Lets not let imature brats come on here and brag about them. everyone come in on them and push them out of our site. Because it says DODGEDAKOTAS.COM, NOT LIGHTNINGS OR IMPORTS.

Message: well ya gotta remember. Most of the people who post "why would you mod a V6?!?!?!" are just people that are insecure with themselves and are worried about getting their nutz stepped on by a V6 or worse yet a four cylinder.
I know that when i bought my truck i was living had home with mom and dad making $8 an hour so getting a new truck with every option was out of it... Now that i have more money, i have more mods.
asking everyone to get along on this board is like asking saddam to have tea with president bush... it just wont happen. everyday someone new finds this site and things that they either know more than everyone, or think that they can solve everyone problems with one remark. As long as this forum doesnt require registration for posting, this crap will continue... that is why most of the "veterans" of this site have found their way to dodgetrucks.org, dakotausa.com or dakotatrucks.com.

Message: I'm glad someone is speaking up about this. Not everyone on this board is looking to go 150 mph with a truck. Some have problems that need fixing. Some want to know what works and what doesn't as far as upgrades and some want to sell stuff. I just think we need to be a little more considerate for everyone on this site. I agree with you IntenseDak39, but it seems to me if your interested in something than speak your mind, if your not than just shut up and not be ctitical. It's that simple.
Wouldn't want any other!

Message: Well, if it wasn't for all the V6 bashing, I wouldn't know my V6 sucks! I'd still be foolishly thinking that my V6 had enough power to go as fast as I need to go!
So keep up the criticism.

Message: Its about time...every time i talk to my "friends" about building my v6 up, they always ask, when are you going to get a new truck...it really gets old after a while, and i've stopped talking to a few of them. same thing goes on here, most people forget that some people want to build a V6 because they didnt have the money at the time to buy a V8, so they do the next best thing and build up the V6 by whatever means necessary...be it nitrous, blower, turbo, whatever, power is power, and the people with V8s who tell you that their way is the only way to go, i agree to a point...on the race track, they are right, but not on the street, where the V6 will still get better mileage and drive better, even with more power

Message: to me its the fact of being able to make my little v6 go faster then your v8,, and besides dont it all go around in a circle, if the v6 beats the v8, then the v8 owner mods more to catch back up to the 6,, then when he does the 6 owner mods more to go faster then the 8,, So whats the big deal,,

Message: I agree with all of you on these subjects. There is too much crap talking. There is name calling. There is bla bla bla. But you must remember that this site was and is popular due to its varity of people with thier variety of knowledge. I have been able to get anything I have needed to know from this site over the last 3 years. And yeah, you have to read some BS and deal with "questionable" people, but THUS IS LIFE. Whenever you get masses of people together, your gonna get crap as well as good. Matter of life.
Just dont let the crap over run the good that happens here! Yall have a nice evening.

Message: I found this site a little over a month ago by accident after I bought my latest DAKOTA. I come back to it exclusively(I even put it on my favorite list) because the info is great, some of the flaming is pretty funny but it does get old especially the v6-v8 crap. Before I bought my Dak I was driving an s10 and was considering a Neon for a second driver so I started digging and found noens.org I asked a couple of questions and got flamed bad,I never went back. Thats what I like about this site most everybody is willing to help even if its a dumb question. I got a v6 5-speed because its what I found that I could afford (plus its a club cab)I'd rather have a v8 but that ain't gonna happen till this motor goes. I've already decided its going to be a stroker B-motor or a crate HEMI but for now it has to be a modded v6.Since finding this site I've added a flowmaster 40 and a homebrew cold air kit but that will get changed as soon as I can find a cheap 340 Duster hoodscoop or figure out how I can bolt on a 440 six pack scoop without it looking cobbled(exposed rivets or bolts)then I am going to try a good old fashioned velocity stack and a hoodscoop pan. Anyway, sorry to get long winded just wanted to say thanks for the kicka$$ site and keep helping the newbies.

Message: I bought my truck because it had the V6 I had owned 2 Daks before this one.
No it is not a drag racer
No it is not a 150mph road racer
No it does not have 500 hp
I bought my 3rd Dak because they are reliable
and they are trucks and they do what they are
suposed to.
Yes I have mine moded to the max it just makes
it more fun to drive than it already was.

Message: I have a 92 4x4 5.2 I have added the K&N filter and a flowmaster 70 series muffler 3in. in and out. I plan to upgrade the ignition system soon. I did this before I even knew this forum even existed. I recently puchased a 97 dak from a coworker, who upgraded his truck. The 97 has the 3.9 v6, extracab, auto, 3.5. I have picked up many suggestions from this forum, that haved helped me with improvements in performance and gas mileage, for example: cold air intake, cat-back system, relocated IAT sensor, ported tb or aftermarket tb. I will continue to visit this site, it has been very helpful to me. It's nice see other people upgrading their dak's and the results they get. Thanks to dodgedakotas.com. I must admit I get a kick out HARLOW a walking talking advertisement for autolite and tornados.
