Message: Are you sure it's the glass? I had a similiar problem. Turned out to be a loose mirror. I even replaced the window seal. Try adjusting the striker bolt for the door too.

Message: Thanks for the reply.Yes,I'm sure it's the glass, because I can lower the window slightly and the noise goes away.I also wedged my fingers between the glass and the moulding and the tone would change.I'm afraid that I need to put those wind deflectors on that I've seen on cars before.(I've always wondered why anyone would buy those). It's pretty loud!I will try adjusting the striker as you suggested. Thanks again,Patrick

Message: I had the same problem with my '96. Only it was when the windows were rolled all the way down.
I removed the black "vent" on the lower door frame and it was the glass rattling in the aluminum window channel. I CAREFULLY squeezed the window channel with a pair of channel locks, huh, go figure, so it fit tighter to the glass.
That solved my problem, but like I said, mine rattled when the window was rolled down. You might look into it and see.

Message: Hey, thanks guys for all of your suggestions.Perhaps I'm using the wrong word (rattle) to describe my problem? It really sounds like the front tire is rubbing the fender well!I just had another thought. It might be the rubber moulding flapping against the door?(I'm not crazy)I'm seriously considering offering a reward to the person that solves the problem.(or a contest)If I roll the window down slightly,it goes away, which indicates that maybe it is'nt the glass, but maybe something else? Thanks for your support,Patrick

Message: It's obvious that some people don't get out much!HWY 15,between LA & Las Vegas the posted speed limit is 75 mph.(slower traffic keep right)I did'nt know that I had to go to traffic school before I could post an ad in here.I expect I'll be receiving a speeding ticket in the mail next?Do yourself a favor, load the family in your truck, drive to Las Vegas, have fun and see if your window rattles.Don't drive 55,because you'll get run over!

Message: I don't know how to correct the problem. I factory ordered a 96 Dakota Sport and it has had the same problem from day 1. I have electric windows. On one note, my noise starts around 68-70 mph. The noise is only on the driver's side. I have learned to live with it since I took it home on Nov. 25 1995.

Message: my drivers door sang like a banshee over about 70 mph, also passenger door sometimes. I thought it was the window seal for a while, but it was the door seal. I epoxied strips of thin wood (piece of yardstick) to the inside of the door frames, forward of the window to increase the compression of the soft rubber seal, that solved the problem. taper the ends and make lots of shallow cross cuts to increase the flexibility of the wood strips so they bend to conform to the curvature of the door
