Subject: Removing the middle seat

Message:
I'd like to remove my middle seat/console along with the seatbelt (obviously). I was trying to get a good look at it, but couldn't see much except that it is connected to the bucket seats. Is it just bolted on or is it welded/attached with a special tool? Is it fairly easy to remove? I don't remember who it was, but I saw someone here had theirs removed and they had their amp and subwoofer mounted to a custom console type box. I just want to get it out because I HATE hauling two other people around and my friends always end up pressuring me into taking em both along. They don't care about me getting fined for seatbelt violations (I shoved the seatbelt through the seat) so I figure if there is only one other seat, that will stop them. Plus I wouldn't mind putting in a different console. Please give me some input on this... Also if any of you have taken yours off, tell me if you think it looks better/worse and if it was worth it or not. I don't like making mistakes:)

Thanks,
Josh

its actually really simple. the middle seat is bolted in. its all connected. at one peice. take out the 4 bolts on each seat and pull the whole set out. might take two people but you can do it by yourself. then the middle seat has 4 bolts on the bottom side of it. once the bolts are off the arms are connected to the seats. they are rivited in place. need a grinder to get them off but its simple. and thats all you need to do. hope this helps

Thanks Greg, that does help a lot. I'll have to run it by my dad and see what he says, but it looks relatively simple, even for an idiot like me. :P

Of course, Dad didn't agree...

His response: "Write me the check for $10,000 and you can do whatever you want to it!"

Heh...so easy for a 16 year old unemployed kid.

oh jsut do it he'll never know. and its replace able. you can jsut take the seat out and leave the arms. that way you can reattach it and even use those holes as a mounting point for a sub box.
