I just tore off my aftermarket window tint. The guy who owned the truck before me put it on, and did a bad job.
It was starting to peel off around the edges (of the back window)
I would like to put some back up, but was wondering if anyone had any advice before I did it and mess everything up.
I am only putting it on the rear window.
I have side window covers (and a window cover thingy on the back also, they look great!)
thanks y'all for even reading this.

I would just pay someone to do it. 'Cause if they fock it up, you can at least blame someone else.
BTW-I had a bad experience at Ziebart with THEIR version of tinting.

Have someone do it, 1)It's alot easier to drop it off and pick it up and 2)Most reputable shops will give you a warranty.

I had a local shop do all the windows in mine. The cab sides were already done from the factory. I had the back glass done to match those and the door windows done to the darkest allowed. After I had the back done for a few months, they charged me nothing to peel it all off, and just charged for the new tint when I wanted it darker. The back is now 5% and the cab sides are 5% on top of what was already there. I'm happy with the job they did. Was done while I waited, in an hour or so.

What's something like that cost though?
I haven't had time to call around to different shops. I am going to try to do that today.
I'm only a highschool student with many things that I do after school in hopes of getting into a good school.

Today, I'm getting the truck tuned-up and the autolites put in. we'll see how that works out.
thanks

The back glass was $55. Sides were $25 or 30, I can't remember. Doors were $35 each.

I called around for price's today for getting mine done by a shop. looks like it will cost me about $100 to $150 to have my rear window (it is a sliding rear window) and my two side window's done.
once I get a little more money I am going to have it done. I'm not sure how dark to get it done though.
any recommendation??

My back glass is solid. I had it done 20% at first, and then went 5%. It's a little hard to see backing up into a completely dark spot at night, but that's the only disadvantage really. I got it done darker because headlights at night were still too bright.

I agree with paying someone else to do it. I've done quite a few myself but it's not worth my time anymore. If you do it yourself. Spray the glass with window cleaner. All the old adhesive will start to soften. Scrape it all off with a scraper/razor blade. (very messy job)The safest way to apply the tint is to do a paper template 1st and the cut the tint the exact size. Unfortunately, it's also time consuming.

Don't forget to check the legal limit on window tinting too... cops love nailing you for stuff like that.

My Brother is on the police force in the town I live in. it's very nice, I haven't gotten pulled over, I just wave to them and they wave back. One time one of them pulled me over just to talk to me.
it's very nice! so I'm not too worried about that.
thanks for the tip though.

I recently had the back/side windows tinted in 5/20 tints and it looks great. It also only ended up costing me 175$ CDN tax included and that's the price you should definitely aim for at most.
One thing to remember is night vision. Having my windows factory tinted on the back and then throwing on a 5% makes the back windows EXTREMELY dark and almost impossible to see out of at night, especially when backing up. Luckily I have a split rear window which I can open, but in -20 degree weather, she doesn't always open so it makes things challenging. Just remember that in case you want to go nice and dark.

In MD on trucks, SUV's, and vans you are allowed to do front windows down to 35%. The other windows can be as dark as you want.

Cars are 35% all the way around.
