Message: well if i remember right, the TFX system is a pacesetter, and if this is so, then i'd steer clear of it...pacesetter is known for it's extremely low prices, but if this system is anything like pacesetter's systems for cars, then you really get what you pay for, i can't remember if it's painted black or not, but if it is then you could expect the paint to burn off in less than a week, and it will begin to rust through...my muffler shop suggested the vortex muffler when i asked for the same thing, it's a reasonable price, and a sound that is extremely close to the flowmaster, mine has a hole in it, so i'm going to try a different route just for the heck of it, i'm going with the new JBA evol system, it's gonna cost me around $200
hope this helps,
brian

Message: Ditto to what Jason said. I have a spintech but I got to tell ya bro, i'm not running exactly legal by cali standards. I also have a 4x4 and go mudd'n and sand dune runn'n so I decided to go with the spintech cuz it's stainless, loud, flows awesome and is reasonably cheap. But I said screw the cat back and just went with a turn down after the muffler. Needless to say, my neighbors hate me but the flow is amazing and since I go mudd'n like you, I have that much less exhaust to get hung up since the muffle is so high and the turn down is pretty sharp. Mostly though, it just sounds great and at $60 installed, I couldn't beat it.

Message: I have the tfx pace setter exhaust on my 95 4x4 dakota v6. It sounds real good when it idles but when you put into it a little in buzzes and that makes it kind of annoying. It really is only annoying when your in the truck. When your outside it sounds a little better. Im going to put some JBA headers on to see if they will help. Other wise the quality is pretty good. It came with stainless steel tips that are chromed plated that look real nice. I got it for $180 dollars on ebay.
