Message: my truck idles high after giving it gas. it stays idling high waayyy after i let off the gas. i have to floor the brakes to keep it from rolling. i found that after i shift into neutral it screams, then i floor the gas quick and it goes back down to normal. i took apart the whole TPS assembly today, took out the lil plastic gears and the little motor in the gold, cylindrical metal case. i cleaned it all out and it still now idles hi. i checked the archives on the site for any related info, and its all about the voltage amount. i went to kragen/autozone/napa site and even the 'zone store, and they dont have the right part. it sucks. WTF do i d?!?!!

Message: a while ago i had that problem. Sometimes it would idle really high other times it would not idle at all. I found out that it was a bad throttle body gasket. Have you tried removing the throttle body and give it a good cleaning?

Message: Check out:
- the throttle cable (whether it's stuck.., oil or replace.
- TB gasket (whether it lets air through...), replace.
- IAC motor (they tend to go bad..., but don't push or twist the plunger), replace.
Hope that helps.
