Subject: A TB question I haven't yet seen IP: Logged
Message: What is the stock size of a V6 tb I see ported ones at 48mm.
Also on a side note rtdakota I see you sell the F&B TBs you said you don't have to change the cable on the 48mm, what about the 50mm?

Message: I cannot remember for sure-- I think the stock V6 are 46 mm.. For a F&B 48mm, the linkage is all set to go for a V6. If you REALLY wanted a 50mm for your V6 (overkill unless you have a blower, a radical cam, or head work)-- I can make a 50mm with a V6 linkage-- so it's would be a direct bolt on. Again, overkill for the 3.9L V6.
This is assuming 96 and newer truck-- 95, 92-94 are a little different TB and I have limited availabilty on 48mms for those years.

Message: I plan on putting a super charger on in summer so I figure why put on a 48only to pull it off and put on a 50. Its a '97 so that alll should work. Putting the 50 on shouldn't hurt anything though, even being overkill, right?

Message: The 50 will work-- just not ideal on NA 3.9L... If you order a 50mm from me or whomever, put in your remarks or email that you have a 3.9L so I can put the correct linkage on it!
Thanks.

Message: The orginal v6 ones had different size depending on year and when it was built. I found comments ranging anywhere from 42-46mm. Reason I found it was that if I had a 46mm TB, I wasn't gonna screw with the v8 48mm. I measured mine and found it to be about 43-44mm on a 97.
