Message: Mobil 1 w/Purolator Pure ONE filter. Yes, I use synthetic with only 500 miles on it. If they can put it in brand new Corvettes then I can put it in my Dodge with 500 miles on the ticker. Now at 55000 miles and running fine - don't burn/use oil.

Message: I do not think it matters which oil you use as long as it is one of the major ones and it meets the standards set forth in the owners manual. I personally would not use any generic oil. Although I have used the generic Wal-Mart oil in my '76 Datsun B210, which seemed to work fine. I use conventional Castrol oil and I change my oil every 3K miles, if I used synthetic I would probably change my oil every 6K-7K miles. But, I do not want to spend the money for synthetic. I am probably spending the same amount of money since I change my oil more often. The only reason I use Castrol is because that is what my Dad used; why complicate things. I use Fram Tough Guard oil filters because I used them in my '76 Datsun. But, I used the cheaper orange one, of course.
