Message: I just changed the fuel pump on my 95 4x2. Loosened the back two bed bolts an inch each and removed the front six bed bolts and three little screws at the filler neck. I used my engine lift to raise the front of the bed two feet with a nylon strap between the bed and cab. Block it so you don't get squished if it slips. Running and reassembled in less than two hours. Last year I did one on an 87 by removing the straps. Had to hacksaw the bolts and drill through the bed to put in new carriage bolts. Took me a day and a half. Believe me lift the bed!

Message: Believe me, when i change my pump, i will be lifting the bed... i can take mine off by myself. Yesterday, bernd and i changed one on a 95 ram. We choose to remove the tank because the ram bed is MUCH bigger and it had a tonno cover on it. It is not that much fun... but that was mainly due to the fac that the owner of the truck had undercoating sprayed on every little piece under that ram.... bah!

Message: Yes and I forgot to mention that the tank still had 3/4 of fuel in it at the time. No smoking!

Message: When I changed the pump on my 94 I dropped the tank and it was damn near full. I had it out and back in with the new one in an hour.
