Subject: TB questions/Tornado Fuel Saver question IP: Logged
Message: I was looking into throttle bodies and such... how easy would one be to install if you aren't to mechanically inclined? Also do they just give you a noticeable increase in top speed or do they help a lot with acceleration? Oh yeah...what's their effect on your gas mileage when you're using a V8 tb instead of a V6?
For my other question, what do you all think about the Tornado Fuel Savers? They worth the money or is the only noticeable effect gonna be the hole it leaves in your pocketbook?
Thanks,
Josh

Message: Changing the Throttle Body is actualyl pretty easy. The hardest bit is disconnecting the throttle cable (mine had the clip on -backwards-, so it took five minutes longer than it should). Just remember where the lines go, unbolt the four bolts, and lift! Installation is reverse... :0)
As for milage? Milage went up when I ported my V6 TB, so I'd expect it to at least stay consistant with the V8. It depends, though, on how bad you have Leadfootitus. ;0)
Throttle Body Spacers = Crap. The design of the Magnum Intake Manifolds is such that it won't make a difference. Besides, I don't see how it is supposed to "promote better fuel/air mixing" when the fuel is directly squirted into the Cylinders, and not through the throttle body/intake.
