 Subject: got the muffler what next?

Got my muffler today. I got an OBX single in single out. My fiend had one put on his 4.3l s10 and i fell in love with it. Its being installed thursday. I'm contemplating chopping off the cat. converter or not? I already know i wont have a problem legally, but will i run into any problems doing this? My real question is what next intake or throtte body? and which kind? i want a k&n fipk but do they make this for the 3.9l v6?
