Subject: 3.9L v6 engine dies IP: Logged
Message: i have problems with my engine
1. everytime i make a u turn (full steer left or right) my engine dies after removing my feet off the pedal engine shakes and dies.
2. mine has a rough idle sometimes my tach drops below 500 rpm and kicks back to normal (650+ rpm.)
3. slow response when slightly aggressive step on the pedal (but not aggressive as to the floor) my engine shakes before it reacts. like from stop light and go
the dealer replaced my idle air control motor and checked the whole engine and find nothing. they said that this engine dies is normal for 3.9L v6 but i don't think thats true. i went there 4 times to check whats wrong but they still says its normal. i know that there's something wrong with this.
info: 2002 dodge dakota quadcab, 3.9L v6, 2600 mileage, stock engine, only 5 months old, no codes besides iac motor.
please help!!!!! need info

Message: it just sounds like that iat is still bad. If you are still coming up with the iat code i would have that dealer replace it because its not normal to turn your steering wheel and have your vehicle stop running.

Message: It sounds like an IAC solenoid problem...activation problem, or maybe the plunger is sticking in the bore?
Try taking it to another dealer, maybe you can find one whose service department isn't staffed by morons. Engines dying and acting like yours on a brand new truck IS NOT NORMAL. All these dumba$$ dealers who try to insult people's intelligence by telling them that crap like this is normal, should be beat with a bat. Do they think that people would logically buy junk that acts like that? Did it do that on the test drive? How many do they think that they'd sell if it did? I don't get it. Oh, Mr. Dealer, will you please take this $20,000 so I can buy that P.O.S that bogs/stumbles/dies/won't idle/etc., etc...give me a freaking break. I also have a 5 month old 2002 V6, and it runs FINE, all the time, no matter what. It only dies when I shut off the ignition. Tell them to fix it or show you someone who can. Good luck.

Message: This is just a thought, but you might want to get your injectors checked. Mine was doing the same thing, not all the time, but just once in a while. I replaced the battery and thought i had it solved, but it did it again. So, I replaced the wires, plugs and cap, and it was okay for a few weeks and then started again. Since I replaced the injectors, it has never stalled, hesitated or rough idled again.
