Message: Does any one know anything about JB upper intake cleaner. I just had my 2000 4x4 3.9 liter in for break service and they said i need alot of other things done. one of which is and upper intake cleaning with JB upper intake cleaner. They also said there was a plate on the bottom of the intake that they needed to pull off and clean inside. Can any one help me i want to make sure they arent tryingto rip me off before i tell them to do it.
Thanks

Message: Can't speak of JB upper intake cleaner, but I just replaced the gasket on the plate (called a plenum plate). If you open up the throttle and look down inside the motor, and see a lot of oil. You need to replace the plate gasket. Dodge makes a kit with a new pan and different type of gasket. Ping and hesitation can also be a sign of a blown gasket. Remember to use new intake bolts if you do this job. Factory bolts are the use once type.
