Message: I'm the new owner of a 1993 Dakota with the 3.9
V6 and over 200 000 miles. We need the truck
for when we start to build our house.
I changed the engine oil and topped up the
transmission fluid adding a transmission leak-
stop as I had a small leak (only when running).
There are two exhaust manifold studs missing on
the left side along with the associated woof
when accelerating. Also there is a bit of a
clatter from the front which I expect is the
timing chain.
The truck starts right up and runs well. It
has no trouble codes that show up.
Is there anything I should do to help ensure
that it runs reliably for the next wo years?

Message: Keep changing the oil every 3,000 miles. Keep good clean
antifreeze in her.
