Subject: 97 Dodge Dakota Dies While Driving IP: Logged
Message: All, need some assistance. I have a 97 dodge dak that has been literally dieing on me while i drive. It's getting to the point where I am doing 60 up a hill and then it cuts out, sputters for a bit, and then litteraly no power brakes, steering, or anything. I pull over, turn the key off and back on and it starts right back up perfectly. I have a relatively new fuel pump. So I think I might eliminate this. What could it beeeee? Help plz its so annoying and getting dangerous.

Message: Check fault codes.

Could be a bad dist pickup (fuel injector sync), or bad crankshaft position sensor. The codes can help determine that.

Message: Possible = bad coil , how are spark plugs ?
If plugs are getting burnt - bigger space than
spec = can lead to coil shorting out at speed.
