Message: if the converter was bad the engine would rev
higher to make the truck move or it would not
move at all
does it slip in lockup
Try a good tune up I dought the converter is bad
the motor makes the torque the converter just
transfers that to the trans
If it is a bad converter you have a few options
factory makes 2 for the 42 RH
stock 900 rpm stall
high stall 1200rpm stall
smrtrans.com
they will make you any enguagement speed you
want from stock to 3500rpm they build there
own converters in house

Message: the reason i think its the converter is because i lost my torque instantly, and it happend right after pulling an f350 powerstroke from the mud, when i smash the gas it just chugs along and does go any where, but if im already moving and nail it the truck downshifts as normal and takes off,,,,,my problem it only at a dead stop to slow roll.

Message: did you get it ficked see this is a old post. it sounds like the converter might not be unlocking but the motor would be stalling out at stops the parts for this is in the trans. I would look for a vacuum leak first or you kick down cable might have broke.

Message: just for some closure. the torque converter was bad. i blew it up the one way roller clutch in the stator blew up sending metal into the trans. a trans rebuild and a new converter fixed all my issues.

Message: Pull some more trucks out of the mud! Would of been a whole lot cheaper if you called a tow truck.
I bet you went to college, for college is where all common sense is lost.
