Looks like you already found this out for yourself but for everyone else-
Most likely the problem was with the IAC. The easiest way to minimize problems with a junkyard tb is to take all the sensors off your original and put them on the replacement. You already know that everything works on your old one.
For the cable, always pull the old one. Often junkyards will throw them in with the tb. It seems that they rarely sell them and end up in the crusher with everything else that doesn't sell.
As for the R/T tb, it is exactly the same as all other v8 tb's. Earlier EGR tb's will cause problems but that can also be solved.
