When my Dakota starts, it runs great. Once in awhile it won't start. When I turn the key there's a definite kick like its going to start but it doesn't, seems like a definite fuel problem. I can crank it 10-15 times and then suddenly it will start right up as if nothing was ever wrong. I retrieve the codes and had #27 set (fuel injector circuit), my scanner pointed specifically to injector #2. I secured the wire harness better but the problem happened again. I have a spare injector so I'm going to change out #2. I have already resoldered the wire splices for the fuel injectors.
My question is this, I didn't think one bad injector would prevent the entire engine from starting, so I don't think this one injector is really my problem. Has anyone experienced this? Can something else cause COde #27 to be set. I've check all ground connections
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

could be ASD or fuel pump relay
use the A/C clutch relay and swap them with
the asd, if same swap back than with fuel
pump
all the relays in the power dist box under hood
are 30 amp relays all the same
when it don't start pull a spark plug
if wet spark prob
if dry fuel problem
an easy quick check and it will narrow it down
could also be the pump itself or a bad ground
or connection
I have seen a few pumps it will run fine
shut of and it will not start but if you wait
an hour it would start and run fine
