Message: Eric, I have a small oil leak with my power steering pump, and it goes all over, I have put in some power steering stop leak and its nearly stopped, mine is at the front seal, yours could be a hose, and that could deffintly cause it. The oil in the front drive should be gear oil so I doubt if it would be gear oil. Unless its synthetic, in that case I'm not sure.
Good Luck

Message: Eric, push the stick all the way back in to get a correct measurement, plus it will have at least 2 marks, one for cold, one for hot. It will make a difference which one you use. Power steering fluid, like auto-trans fluid will expand a lot when it gets hot.
Good Luck

Message: Eric, just so you know it doesn't take a lot of oil, to make things look really messy. I would suggest you wash it off at a car wash and then you can look at the power steering hoses and the area around the pump to see if its leaking any oil.
Good Luck
