Just kidding man. I have an MSD 6A with Blaster II Coil and SuperConductor wires, and I didn't really notice much of a gain. However, I did notice that the engine runs a great deal smoother throughout the entire power band. I started with just the coil and the wires, and noticed a hesitation in top-end acceleration. I think this was because at higher RPM, the high-output coil did not have enough time to fully recharge between firings. After installing the 6A, which is a capacitive discharge system, the hesitation went away, and now I have full acceleration all the way through about 4200 RPM.
I have a gen I, and it was really easy to install. I don't know about gen III installations, but however difficult it is, I think it is definitely a worthwhile mod.

Message: By itself, the MSD won't really make you go faster. But mixed with a few other mods, the full potential of the amplifier can be felt. MSD claims like up to 11 added HP with the box, coil, and spiral core plug wires. If you added with the MSD setup an intake, throttle body, headers and muffler, and sparkplugs you are looking at anywhere between a 20-30 hp gain. Just headers alone won't affect your performance any more that the ignition system. The key to making your truck faster is putting the right combinations of mods on, not jus one or two...If you want serious bolt on power, invest in the 1.7 Roller Rockers, they cost about the same as a good set of headers and the rockers will give you a significant stand alone increase in HP. Now if you mated all of these mods together (MSD, Intake, T-body, sparkplugs, muffler, headers, and the roller rockers that would give you a 40-50 hp increase. You would definitely feel that and you would stop posting reatrded things!!!! hehe just kidding.
