Message: Looking for assistance. Engine runs rough, feels like a dead cylinder, followed by the CEL. Scanned the computer at O'Reilleys. Code 27 left bank misfire, trigger input missing or low, cylinder 1 misfire. The condition will typically clear it self with engine running normal and only the CEL illuminated.
I have replaced in the last week new, plugs, plug wires, rotor, dist. cap, ignition coil, crankshaft position indicator, air temp sensor, and fuel filter. I removed and cleaned the IAC and TPS. When the misfire occurs while in the driveway, the exhaust smell becomes rich, it burns the eyes. Maybe I have a fuel delivery problem and I continue to chase the ignition system. Looking for other suggestions. Thanks

Message: Injector problem - possible bad injector
or connection to it. Remotely possible -connection to computer , but NOT likely-= I believe at least up to 95 the computer
connection is one line -common to all injectors
( the extra vacuum at a given cylinder determines
if that particular injector should spurt ).
Which also brings up the possibility of a vacuum
leak , Do you hear any 'hissing' ?

Message: I do not detect any vacumn leak. I will place a vacumn gauge on the intake vacumn port and will be looking for 19-20 inches of Mercury. Engine does not run hot or does ny show a fast idle.
I appreciate your continued interest in my case. I replaced the dist. rotor as I mentioned earlier. Is there a replaceable electronic pickup assembly inside the distributor?
I feel it is ignition related. I can smell the exhaust go rich when the misfire occurs which tells me fuel is being injected into the intake but not being burned.

Message: Either wiring ' connection' related to
injector, or sounds more like -one injector
is staying ON - flooding at least one cylinder.
Number 1 cylinder according to the code..

Message: I never thought about the injector having a long dwell time, staying on.
Yesterday I replaced the TPS and today the engine computer thermostat. The sensor was located behind the AC compressor. It was not an enjoyable parts swap out. I will keep posting on the outcome of this diagnosis.
