I have a V6 dodge dakota 1989. I'm not overly savvy when it comes to vehicles. My truck is overheating within 5 minutes of driving when its 20 degrees F out. I replaced the water pump and the radiator was replaced 2 months ago.
Same problem. I can't figure it out. My bro says it either clogged or there's air getting in through one of the hoses. I really don't think it's clogged. Are there any other options? I guess I'll start replacing hoses. On my short test drive I overheated and it leaked at the hose from the bottom of the radiator where it connects to the water pump. I put it on pretty tight (I thought). And the hose looks fine. That indicates it's under too much pressure. Thoughts?

did you change the thermo-stat? if not change it. also, with the engine cold, remove the rad cap and start it up. let it get to operating temp and then check the radiator to make sure it's full. this should get any air that's in there out.

You Propylene Glycol, because it isn't poison to critters.

I also agree to check the thermostat...I told one of my friends with a Cherokee to do that, but he did not listen. He also replaced the water pump and radiator to find out that it was just the thermostat!!! At least you have a new water pump tho!
