Message: Ok so heres the problem. I have two issues.
1. posted previously with no response. but when i floor my 99 3.9 2wd auto. it drives as it should but occasionally sits at a higher rpm for a split second and then continues through up to 5K. dont know why it occasionally does this.
May be related.
2. When i accelerate it goes but when i really open it up it seems as though it is bogged down with too much fuel. It doesnt want to accelerate as fast. Could this be and ignition problem. no codes coming up and it has had a fairly recent tuneup.
Please help!
Thanks.

Message: One possibility is low fuel pressure !
Is the problem worse if tank is below half full ??
If this is the case - actual problem is [ clogged
input filters ] on the fuel pump..
Thing is -you have to replace the assembly to
clear the problem -=- filters are not available by themselves...
Have you done the timing mod ?

Message: My 93 3.9 has a schrader valve on the injector rail to connect a fuel pressure guage. Likely your 99 does also. You can connect a guage and mount it somewhere like taping it to the outside of the windshield so that you can monitor it while driving and putting the vehicle through the conditions at which you experienced a problem.
