Message: The reving is not uncommon after changing from a v6 to v8 tb. What you need to do is restart your truck 3 seperate times, let it run for about 30 seconds each time, then restart. By doing this you are allowing the computer to adapt to the new throttle body. If it continues after this the pull the negative battery cable, leave disconnected the turn the key to the start position for about 30 seconds. This performance a hard reset to the computer and will have to adapt to new settings which takes about 200 miles, this should solve the cyclic reving up and down.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: Either that, or you've got a bad gasket leak that's letting it pull extra air in under the high vacuum of idle, though one would expect that the idle would remain higher all the time.

Message: vac leak
bad tps or IAC
did you use the correct V8 body
92 to 95 egr must use 92 to 95 v8 body
96 and up non egr type
this will also cause idle issues
I hope you used a new gasket only like $1
remove the IAC back of TB and use a little oil
on the oring I have also seen this happen all
it takes is a small leak
there is one more thing that happens but is rare
the plates are bent or just open to far if this is
the case you must drill out the plug and close
them a little right where an idle adjustment
would be on a carb
IAC should be around 15 obd1 30 obd2 steps read
with scanner
Also did you use all your old sensors knowing
they were ok over tighteng the tps can also
cause it to stick center wire and ground key on
engine off open and close throttle and make sure
it always returns to the same low volts between
.3 .8 .75 being the optimal setting but must
always be the same
