97 3.9 On the passenger side if the throttle body there are two fittings. One is for the pcv valve. What is the other for? I have never noticed it before but it is open and sucking air. Need some help.

I'd have to look, but I think I have a rubber cap on that fitting. If it's open you need to cap it off.

on my 92, that second vacuum hole is for the cruise control. It T's off to also feed vacuum for the interior heat control. Given your year dakota, yours could be different.

Makes sense. I don't have cruise control, so it's capped.

you can go to a public library, tech school or
a dealer and ask them for a copy of the vac line
routing diagram

it probably has adjusted to runnig with it open
cap it off start and stop motor 3 times and it
will pick up new idle

there should be no open vac
