Subject: What Air Intake Should i get?? IP: Logged
Message: i know this has probably been asked a million times but im asking anyway. I have a 2001 V6 dakota sport. the only mods i have is a Flowmaster 40 series delta flow muffler and a drop in K&N airfilter. so my question is, given these mods would an air intake give me a noticeable difference in performance? And if so what kind sould i get, and how much u think itll be? thanks guys.

Message: I just had the Intense Performance with the 7" Big Mouth filter installed on my 2000 3.9...
After driving around with it for a week, I will say that I notice a slight performance gain (often refeered to here as the "butt dyno"), but very slight indeed. If I notice anything very pronounced, it's the sound of the truck when I punch it--much more thraoty and actually sounds like a real engine.
This particular kit at Speedtweaks w/shipping was $140. I do believe it's worth the money, but it should be considered a first step in getting more performance out of your engine.
Regards,
David
