Message: Just purchased my first Dodge truck. 02 Dakota Quad cab with the 3.9 and a five speed. I only have about 200 miles on the truck. So far I really like it. I do have a question though, how will this truck tow two snowmobiles? Total trailer weight is around 1600 to 1700 lbs. Also can you add a dual exhaust for more H.P. or is this a waist of money? Thanks

Message: yes your dakota can tow a trailer w/ two snowmobiles. I tow a race car with mine, it weighs in at about 3400lbs. I do recomend putting on a hitch though, so you dont rip the bumper in half.

Message: I've got a "00" DAK with 3.9l,5spd,and the 3.21
tail gear. I pull a 1500lb popup camper with it
usually around a 800 mile trip from flat lands to hilly country have not had any bad experiences
with it as it pulls it real good.Of course going uphill sometimes I have to down shift but with 5spd a lot less strain than with auto.YES do make sure you put a hitch on it also suggest an anti sway bar.I have the Hidden Hitch and the Hellwig
anti sway bar.

Message: If you put dual exhaust on it, it'll be harder to tow considering you will lose alot of low end torque. Yes, you'll make more power at the top end but not good for towing or driving for that matter. Stick with a good catback system from Flowmaster, Gibson, etc. Add a larger throttle body, headers, and high flow cat. Just don't do duals.

Message: Recently purchased a 2001 1500 pick up. Like it lot so far, but it just started to run a little rough. Does not start as easily and idles rough sometimes. I put new plugs and expensive air filter in it about 3 months trying to get better gas milage, but that did not help. I can live with the milage, but not the rough idle and sputtering acceleration.
Any tips will be welcome.
Thanks
