Subject: engin pressure low? IP: Logged
Message: Alright, my 92 3.9 seems to be going to a low idle (400 to 600rpms) soon as I come to a stop or when slowing down to a complete stop, then it kicks back up to 800rpms and when I'm shifting I can hear my engin bogg down a little bit when putting the clutch on. Since I had low oil pressure cause it needed an oil change I desided to go to 20w-50 from 10w-40 since it has 174,000+ miles on it and the pressure wasnt stayin up to par even with a new oil change. It ran at normal pressure for the first 50 miles and is now droping back down, and starting to low ilde like before, anyknow know whats going on here? I'm also thinkin I might have a burnt valve just from the way the exaust sounds when shifting and idling, but there is not miss-fire like a burnt valve would have.

Message: try the idle control motor located on the tb, at least that is what is the prob on my 91. I just unplugged it and screwed it all the way in. In really cold weather i have to put a lil pressure on the pedal for it to start but once its running for 30 sec its fine. it was sticking and making it idle at like1000 sometime 1200 and thats not good for the tranny.
