Message: Any one had knocking from the rear suspension??
My 99 3.9 is making a lot of noise at the back going over rough surfaces.
I have replaced the shocks recently to no avail. I have now removed the leaf sping assemblies and found a lot of clearence betwen the inner bush and the bolt, on all six bushes. I then made some new bolts to reduce the clearence to a push fit, and feeling very pleased with my self went on a test drive, the noise is still there. I noticed the steel inner bushes are spring steel bushes like roll pins and also the bolts have a raised diameter near the bolt head. Is the raised diamenter meant to be a push or interference fit in the inner bush so ther is no clearance at all, and also is it possible to buy new bushes and bolts. I live in Brasil, and the dealer in Rio will only sell me a complete suspension set.
Any help out there????
Regards

Message: Olindo.
I removed both leaf springs and made bigger bolts to reduce the clearance to more or less zero between the bush bolts and the bush.
I thought I had cracked it, but to me it sounds worse. I am just going to the shops now to try and buy new bushes, will let you know if it works.
problem is I am in Brasil and parts are difficult to get, anyway let you know
Regards
Steve
