Subject: Brake caliper replacement IP: Logged
Message: Does anybody know/recommend an aftermarket brake caliper mod for a 1998 Dak 4x4? I'm gutting my brake system (everybody in here knows why :) ) I'm getting the powerslot rotors and the raybestos quiet stop pads. I'm also snagging the raybestos rear drums with pads as well. All I need are the calipers.
Thanks,
Brian

Message: I think there are rear mini drums for the parking brake similar to the GM truck ones.

Message: is your speedo working correctly? if it's not registering under about 30mph it's probably the RWSS(rear wheel speed sensor) located in the center section of the rear diff.

Message: To GM, I don't think they use pistons, my 98 Chrysler has disc's on the rear and after you remove the brake caliber, the disc just slides off. The parking brake is like a small drum a part of the disc. I don't know if the Dakota uses
the same set up or not though.
My Dak is an 88, it has drums rear.
Good Luck,
88 3.9 4X4 5 speed
