Subject: i need some flippin help yall please.. IP: Logged
Message: hey yall!. I have some problems with my 1990 Dodge Dakota 3.9. Ive tried to new batteries, and i still cant get the truck to turn over. All i hear is some CLICK CLICK, everytime i turn the key, almost like the battery is dead, which i know it cant be. I doubt that its fuel related, like a couple of people have told me. could it be that (they still look ok) that i need new battery cables, or maybe a new alternator?
Any help, would be great.
Thanks again
Will

Message: check and clean all battery connections and connections at the starter. it may not be a bad idea to pull the starter and bring it to be tested. especially if it's the original.

Message: or if you're short on funds and
just want to get the thing moving.
sometimes if you just tap the starter
with a hammer while your buddy is turning
the ignition key, the starter will
crank enough to make you vehicle operative.
two cents...

Message: Problem is Starter Solenoid.
But you must replace Starter to fix..
unless you know a starter rebuilder well
and are willing to wait for him to rebuild it.

Message: Just take the starter apart and replace that little copper thing. Make your own or flip it over
