Subject: Engine Ping IP: Logged
Message: Getting some ping when accelerating. I changed the plugs and it helped a bit, noticed the old ones were white, and also helped when going to a higher octane gas but didn't stop it. Don't really want to have to put the expensive gas in either, what causes this and what do you think it is with those symptoms? What should I try next, 02 sensor? thanks.

Message: Igintion timing could be off, check distributor advance. Check the ignition system, spark to all cylinders ok? coil ok?
You can check the o2 sensor(s). What year truck and how many miles? diynet.com has instructions.
Could also be injector or fuel pressure related issue.
Could also be EGR problem depending on year.
