firing order front of intake 1,6,2,3,4,5
driverside-1...3...5
pass.side-2...4...6
bring timing marks to TDC,harmonic balancer mark
to 0 on the timing tab,its on the driverside,
remove dist.cap,rotor button should be pointing to about 10 oclock looking from front of motor,
this is where number one plug wire goes,then wire
accordingly,

Believer, there should be a lable under the hood, if not then plug the vacuum line and make sure the engine is at operating temp, then check the timing, there is a timing mark on the balancer at the front of the engine, on the driver side of the truck at the front there should be a timing tab with some numbers on it, when timing turn the distributor until the timing marks line up, I have an 88 and mine is suppose to be set to 10 degrees before top dead center, to help with fuel mileage I set mine at 14 degrees and it helps power, and fuel mileage. Don't get too crazy, with it, but you can play with the timing until you find just where you want it, and then leave it set. There are 2 slots on some of the balancers, if so I think you need to use the skinny line, mark it with chalk, or paint, if you can't see the mark, then try the other slot. on the timing tab it will have the degrees numbered you can also mark that as well that way you will be able to see the marks when they line up more clearly.
