Message: Is it a crack, or a casting/stamping defect? I would suggest getting some lay-out fluid and "lightly" dabbing the crack. If it shows a line radiating out from the crack, then you have a serious problem.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Message: nah, its not near any stamping lines, it sounds really bad, but it doesnt seem that bad, because there isnt anything leaking from it, and i dont know squat about trannys. but im rebuilding the engine and getting a new trans in the spring anyway. i just wanted to know how serious it was. im prolly gonna clean it out and throw some jb weld in just to be safe, but i doubt itll do anything
thanks.
